"The hotel is up a steep sloping street and in a quiet area. It has a traditional feel and the cafe is really nice and the hot springs, however there is no view, unless you pay for the private baths upstairs. The whole place could use a bit of a facelift, but more of an issue was the lack of service and the quality of the food, particularly dinner. We arrived too late for the 6:30 seating and was given the 7:00 p.m. seating. Clearly the appetizer box had been sitting out for a long time and...

"No attendant at the check-in, no staff in the hotel thru out my stay. You have to call their sister hotel and ask the staff to walk over for check in, then you are on your own. "

"Wonderful stay in this beautiful ryokan with private hot spring bath and a breakfast and dinner that would put Michelin starred restaurants to shame. Everyone was so friendly and the owner popped us in her car unexpectedly to see her favorite cherry blossoms at night. The room was extremely comfortable and well equipped. We loved it!"

The host left a very helpful instructional booklet describing how to use all of the amenities, and even instructions on how to best prepare the food. "The stay at Couscous was absolutely spot on! Beautiful glamping resort in the quiet town of Manazuru. It has good connection links to the main station if odawara. Perfect for exploring the Hakone region of Japan. The tents were very well equipt with fans, heating, usb's. Outside there was incredible decking areas with BBQs, and a large table and chairs. The site itself was extremely clean and the toilet and shower areas were always spotless and very modern. Overall I would 100% recommend this...
