"Rooms have seen better days I need of a freaking up. Doors and needing replaced. Bad mold around the windows. For £70 a night it’s not really acceptable. "

"Was initially given a room with partially completed maintenance and a door that did not lock. Had to move room which was much better. Overall the Grand Hotel needs some serious TLC and is currently not so grand. We wouldn’t consider it good value for money."

"The hotel is gorgeous! Our room was perfect, lots of space and mostly very clean. The only bit that wasn’t was the balcony so when we stepped onto that, as it was a beautiful Easter weekend we then put the dirt onto the carpet. Sunday lunch was lovely, the room we had it in was dog friendly and they were lovely to our boys (spaniel and GSD). We then went for a walk and a drink. I do wish we were allowed to take the dogs into the lounge or they had another area as we spent all our time in the orangery which was lovely but mixing it up and seeing more of the hotel would have been nice. We came across a few issues over the weekend. One was they hadn’t told us the lunch menu and dinner menu were exactly the same and as we didn’t fancy have 2 roast dinners we needed up at the pizzeria which was very disappointing. The food was not cooked properly, it was cold and the service wasn’t great. All in all we had an amazing trip and will be returning but will probably eat outside of the hotel next time "
