"First time the family has been to Dominican Republic let alone a resort. The Majestic Colonial was very nice. It was well maintained and the grounds were kept immaculate. The food was good, not fantastic but good. Nobody came home at the same weight so we definitely ate. There is a limited selection of beer available but plenty of liquor. The beach was beautiful but there was a whole lot of Sargasso seaweed that kept washing up so we had to contend with that. The staff was very friendly. Knowing a little bit of Spanish helps out a lot since some crew members did not speak English. There was plenty of chairs available at the beach so that was never an issue. I would go to Majestic resorts again. Maybe this time try the Elegance."

"My wife and I stayed here in May 2024. This is an excellent resort! I had no complaints. Some reviews people leave will deter others but do not listen to them! This resort always has an activity planned, multiple bars, food options were great, staff was friendly and helpful! Just an overall excellent experience and vibe! I love this property and my wife and I will be back! Great job to the staff and Operations team!"

"We were looking for a restful stress-free vacation and Excellence delivered! The Resort is beautiful and well maintained. The staff always had a smile and they were always eager to help. We throughly enjoyed the cabanas and pool area and the swim up bar. The rooms were clean and spacious. We booked a massage and facial and to our surprise, Hydrotherapy was included. The spa staff were friendly and the massages were great! The only downside for us was the food. The food experience was definitely hit or miss. The Kitchen Table (buffet) was great, as was Spice (Hibachi). If you are going to Spice for the Hibachi make sure to make reservations prior to your stay. At other restaurants, we found that either the food was lacking in flavor or portions. That being said, it would not keep us from booking again. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend staying at Excellence."
