"Property is very tired and in desperate need of TLC upgrades. Having said that it’s homely and the Staff are welcoming, friendly and very professional and helpful. Pets are welcome and all rooms have sea views. The food is plentiful and very good. Will certainly return again. "

"Beaitiful castle in a stunning setting. The rhododendrons were all in bloom and there are magical walks along the paths through the grounds to the nearby island. Dinner and breakfast were delicious with fresh local produce. Staff were all lovely to us and we had a really special weekend. "

"Plenty of choice from fresh fruit salad to cooked breakfast. Room was spotless plenty of towels and loads of essentials. Fridge in room equipped with fresh milk and ice cold water. Ideally placed next to morrisons and close to station. Great friendly host couldn't do enough to please. Will definately stay thete again."

"Arrived to a luke warm welcome. The bedroom window was wide open, to air the room, which was damp. The reception area stank of cigarettes smoke. The carpets are so grubby, some steps the carpet is held together with gaffer tape. When we said we wouldn’t be staying because it wasn’t suitable and damp and in general disrepair. We weren’t offered any incentive to stay or give an option for a better room. This hotel would have been amazing in the 1980’s but has indeed lost all its charm. "
