The best area to stay in Whitehouse is the main village centre, particularly around the harbour.

This area is the heart of Whitehouse, offering easy access to the majority of the village's amenities and attractions. The harbour itself is a focal point, with fishing boats and yachts creating a picturesque scene. The main street, which runs parallel to the harbour, is where you'll find local shops, eateries, and accommodation options. It's a compact and easily walkable area.

Couples often find this area ideal for a relaxing getaway. You're never far from a scenic stroll along the waterfront or a cosy meal in a local restaurant. The proximity to boat trips departing from the harbour also adds to its appeal for those looking to explore the surrounding lochs.

For families, staying in the village centre provides convenience. Everything you need is within a short walk, from places to eat to the small local park.

The best time to visit Whitehouse is typically during the late spring and summer months, from May to September, when the weather is generally mildest and daylight hours are longest.

During these months, you can expect average temperatures ranging from 12°C to 18°C, making it pleasant for exploring the outdoors. This period offers the best conditions for activities such as hiking, enjoying the beaches, and visiting the local attractions without the chill of winter. The extended daylight also means more time to sightsee and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

For those who enjoy outdoor pursuits like walking or cycling, June, July, and August are particularly good months. The warmer weather and longer days provide ample opportunity to explore the Argyll Forest Park, which is nearby, or to take a boat trip on the lochs. These months also see the majority of local events and festivals take place, adding to the visitor experience.

If you prefer to avoid the busiest tourist period and potentially find better value on accommodation and flights, May and September are excellent alternatives.
