"This property is stunning . The breakfast is excellent. Cleanliness is top class . Staff are welcoming and very pleasant people. Grounds are kept immaculate by the grounds staff - who deserve a special mention for their excellent efforts . My minor negative is that , although the evening meals are excellent and tasty , the menu needs at least one “ Today’s special” on it that changes Daily .. as after 2 nights we had both used our options up on the very restricted choice menu - and so we had to eat out in the locality to try for something different and so not repeat ourselves. "

"All great apart from the charge of £20 per person to use pool facilities. Very disappointing as having travelled all day in the heat was looking forward to a cool down in the pool. "

"Excellent location in the historic heart of Chester. Spacious room, very comfortable and quiet. Wonderfully welcoming and very helpful receptionist who recommended restaurants and things to do. It’s always great to receive standout service, so thank you! The only very slight drawback with the room was that the shower was located over the bath rather than being separate. That said, lovely to have a bath in the room too. Excellent Elemis products also. Breakfast service was a little slow even though I went at a pre-booked time and it was quiet. But overall, I really enjoyed my stay and plan to return. "
