"Well placed and the biggest room I’ve had in London. Comfy bed and pillows. The elevator situation is a challenge. Two of the elevators are down (out of a bank of four) so it’s a long wait. "

"Overall, we had a good experience and found the staff courteous and accommodating. That said, there were a few issues that affected our stay. After the first night, we had to change rooms because the electrical fuse box servicing our original room repeatedly shorted out. As a result, we lost power to the television and were unable to charge our iPhones and other devices reliably. Fortunately, once we moved to a different room, the problem disappeared entirely and the remainder of our stay was much smoother. The hotel itself also appears to be in need of some updating. Certain areas felt dated, with worn carpeting, aging furnishings, and décor that could benefit from modernization and a general refresh. While none of this ruined the experience, a facelift would go a long way toward improving the overall atmosphere and bringing the property more in line with current standards and guest expectations."

"The hotel is in a great location, 5 minutes walk from Paddington station and around 5 minutes walk to Hyde Park. There are many great places to eat and some great pubs nearby. I have been to the Paddington area many times in the past, but staying in the area this time, I was really surprised how much there is available so close to the hotel. The room was on the 3rd floor and was quiet which we appreciated. There was the occasional rumbling noise, presumably from the underground system being so close, however it wasn't an issue at all and was strangely 'soothing' and if anything helped get a good sleep. The room was very small, however it had everything which we needed and was very well designed to make the most of the limited space, it even included a good sized, quiet mini-fridge. One of our medium sized suitcases was placed on the provided luggage rack, but the 2nd suitcase had to go on the floor, between the outside wall and the bed. This was a little tricky having to step over the suitcase to get into bed. There was no elevator, but I think this is typical with these Victorian properties. The staff carried our suitcases to our room when we checked in, and carried them down when we checked out. The only negative is that there was no a/c, however there was what looked like a new unit on the wall but they wanted us to pay 10 pounds a day extra! The staff were great, always available and keen to help in any way they could. I would not hesitate to stay here again."
