This is the most amazing little hotel we ever stayed at and we do travel a lot. Our superior room was big compared to the average Japanese hotel room and the bathroom was very modern. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful - special thanks to the chef who realised that we did not really eat much of our Japanese breakfast and made us a more European style breakfast the next day with coffee!!! We did not expect this so “arigato”

Immaculately presented hotel with wonderful staff. Room was full of charm & character and very well appointed. Ideally located for all that Kyoto has to offer.

The staff and all the amenities were fantastic, it was a treat having the Matcha and Sake tasting!

Absolutely stunning small, quiet with large rooms hotel! Friendliest staff especially behind the bar! Beds were a little too firm & just a curtain separating the shower room!

From the moment we arrived, we could already tell how exceptional the service was. The staff made us feel so welcome, greeting us with "Happy Honeymoon" and even surprising us with a thoughtful gift. The Gardens were absolutely stunning. The atmosphere was relaxing and calm. We stayed as a treat at the end of our holiday and it did not disappointment. Thoroughly recommend if you want traditional, yet modern and completely Zen hotel..and the food, sensational experience. The whole stay was exquisite. Thank you

It’s a very quiet hotel and convenient location. Walking distance to most attraction. We stay in the room with lounge access with free alcohol drink and snacks. It’s the best place to spend a bit time with friends after dinner. Also got roof top bar with beautiful view.

Great accommodation, very convenient location in the heart of Gion. Bus transport from and to the the train station was really convenient. Rooms were traditional modern Japanese style, staff was very friendly communication was easy. I highly remomend Gion Elite Terrace Hotel.

Hotel Alza was located in a great spot. It’s in Gion - close enough to all the great sights you can walk, but far enough away so you’re not trampled leaving the hotel. There is a kombini on the next block, and many many great restaurants. You’re also less than 10 mins walk to the shopping district. The staff were helpful and always available. But they are also discreet. Room ammenities were also thoughtful - face masks, heating eye patches, toe separators. All very considered for a long day on...

We had an amazing 3 day stay at Art Mon Zen. From the moment we arrived to leaving, the staff were exceptional and extremely attentive. Probably the best hotel stay in Japan. Overall, the room was very comfortable and relaxing after a long day visiting all the sensational sights in Kyoto. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay near the main Gion district in Kyoto.
