6/10 Okay

"The property is dated and it shows. The bathroom door would not close unless you really pushed hard. The carpet was old with threads showing. The room was panelled with dark paneling which was scratched in multiple places. The room was very dark and the lighting wasn't sufficient to make up for the dark colors. The bathroom is small and there is zero counter space to put anything out. Breakfast is free but my wife and I could not eat the scrambled eggs since they were cold. They charge $5 per day for parking. This may be in the listing but I didn't see it and it caught me by surprise. They really need to do some serious work to bring it up to a more modern facility. My wife and I are frequent travellers to Gatlinburg and this is the first time we stayed here. We will not stay there again."

"After traveling all day from the West Coast, the last thing we wanted was a sales pitch to become a Westgate owner. The sales associate who we were taken to after checking in, was very annoyed with us when we were not interested in hearing the rest of her sales pitch. Even stated it out loud. If it wasn’t for her, I would have rated our experience as an overall excellent experience."

"The website describes the resort and waterpark as a place for “all ages” and family fun. Unfortunately, our experience did not feel inclusive or accessible for a child with physical disabilities. A staff member was not helpful and somewhat rude when we asked for an alternative solution. The resort itself was great, it was just the indoor waterpark that did not go well. When your four, that is a big deal."

"We didn’t like that the breakfast wasn’t free, we had to pay for the breakfast while booking or you can at the hotel each day. The tv in one of our rooms was having technical difficulties. There’s no clocks in the rooms. & the floors aren’t carpeted, it’s hard floors & they were very dirty. My daughter’s socks were black on the bottom. But all that aside; the staff was amazing, we did purchase the breakfast & it was delicious. We got $5 off per ticket when we purchased Dollywood tickets through them. The pool was great & very accessible. The location was amazing, can’t beat being right in the middle of everything. Would stay again!"

"Our river view condo was very nice - listening to the rushing water kept with the Smoky Mountains vibe of the trip. The ducks, geese, and Herron were also fun to watch. Lazy River was also very nice after days of sightseeing and its cleanliness was much appreciated. Location was also very nice - close to everything yet not on the main drag which is very busy."

"I didn’t bring up the following shortfalls to the hotel staff at checkout because, a lot of times these type of things tend not to be addressed due to multiple reasons. Extremely loud and non efficient hvac unit. Room furniture very dusty and almost coming off its hinges (door that concealed the refrigerator). Balcony flooring could use some touch up paint. Housekeeping was asked to return in 15-20 minutes (at around 9:30) and never did all day. Called the front desk with no response to our request for cleaning or follow up. Next day still no housekeeping visit. Had to physically go down to the front desk and ask for it. $18 parking fee, which is a little much considering the size of the parking lot which is enormous. Should just have guest hang the parking permit on car mirror and that would let security know you’re a guest. Hotel is extremely quiet and far enough away from the main strip that it makes your stay easier. Staff is very friendly and helpful so the shortfalls were not that horrible."
