"My room was surprisingly big, huge bathroom, very quiet and clean, had a very comfortable night of sleep there. Both the environment of the hotel and the decor of the room are stylish. But the breakfast was not as good as expected. Especially the quality of coffee and the lack of variety of not so fresh fruits. But I'll still come back for the amenities and the service. "

"What an absolute find, a true revelation. Okay, Newport itself may not be the most salubrious of towns, but the Mercure Hotel is in a league of its own. The hotel is situated right in the town centre, very close to the Friars Walk Shopping Centre and it’s undercover 24 hour car park. "Basic small room with ultra small ensuite on 2nd floor, no lift for heavy luggage. Bed reasonably comfortable although just big enough for two Adults. Sink in Ensuite barley big enough to wash hands and water pressure to high so splashes over floor. Just passable for an overnight stop, but would suggest a larger room if you value space to move freely. Breakfast brought to your room which was a bit of a squeeze but it was cooked well and was thoughly enjoyed."

"Very clean. Very efficient design of space and modern. It would have been nice to have more hooks and a deeper shelf to put our things but we are only in our room to sleep. It was really all we needed. I really appreciated how ecofriendly they are, not even having plastic lids for the coffee cups in the lobby. The lobby was staffed 24 hours a day and the staff were all very helpful. They followed the Golden Rule."
