It's on flight path for Manchester airport so planes overhead very regularly- didn't both us most of the time except for about 6am - 6:30am when there's a plane every 2 minutes lol. Lovely bars and restaurants all walkable distance. Lovely town.

We ate at Smoke and Cellar - lovely meal and great service. Plenty of bar and restaurant options. Shame everything goes quiet at 23.00hrs and that was a Saturday night.
