Grand Central’s birth was the result of a tragic accident. On January 8, 1902, a commuter train traveling from suburban Westchester County crashed into another train waiting in the station’s entrance tunnel killing 15 passengers. An inquiry revealed that the noxious clouds emanating from the steam engines had blinded it’s drivers thus resulting in the accident. Sensing the shift in the political winds the Vanderbilt family announced plans to construct a new state of the art station that would utilize electricity not steam. The station was completed in February 1, 1913. Today, it is one of the most visited tourist attractions garnering over 23 million visitors a year. #details

"Our room was very nice and the staff was quite helpful. 2 suggestions: More tables and chairs are needed in the main meeting area on the lobby floor. Also, more than two small complimentary bottles of water should be placed in the hotel rooms when guests are spending more than one night. Thank you! I "

"The location of the Hyatt Regency Times Square was perfect! It was located right in the middle of downtown which made it super convenient. We were able to walk to many of the attractions and shopping with no problem. The hotel was clean and the rooms were roomy. I have already said this is where we will stay on return visits. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas!"
