"The cottage is beautifully set out and well-appointed. Everything is high quality - from bedding and towels to kitchen equipment. The view is magnificent - I was lucky to have clear days for my stay so the mountain peaks filled the view from living room and bedroom. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the area is peaceful with rural surrounds. The manager was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I hope I shall stay again in the future: this was the perfect rest-stop and retreat after four weeks of touring the South Island. "

"Pleasant stay at Sunset motel. Our rooms had a stunning view of the snow capped mountains in the distance. Fox Glacier is a small town, so the motel is well placed to take in the activities. One suggestion for the motel owners; during the Autumn/ winter season warmer doonas and blankets are definitely needed as the rooms get extremely cold of an evening, even with the heater on."

"Everything was clean and the receptionist was very helpful. The chalet is pretty and very comfortable. The only issue was the laundry that only accept coins. Impossible to find coins these days. Except for that, everything was perfect"

"Old charming character of a lodge. Please throw away plastic kettles. They shouldn’t be in any place. Stay away from PFA, PCA, BPA coated or infused kettles and change to a small non coated stainless steel kettle."

"Comfortable beds, room and bathroom, kitchen had just what we needed. Quiet location was walkable to restaurants in Fox Glacier, and very close to Lake Matheson. Owner responded quickly to one issue that we discovered."
