Franz Josef Glacier Travel Guide

Came during NZ tourism only in Covid shutdown, so was relatively quiet. But it was a lovely time. and beautiful weather always sweetens the deal

Unfortunately the weather was not great. We were hoping to do a scenic flight. If you are fortunate to be there when the weather is good that is a must.

Only stayed overnight as was driving from Queenstown to Nelson but was a hreat place to stop for the night.

Can’t now get anywhere near the glacier, I went many years ago and so different now. Unless you take a flight not worth visiting. I do understand that badly affected by global warming.

We just had one night in Rainforest Retreat. We did the walking in the morning on the way to Westport.
