"1 Hotel always impresses. I really like the laid back vibe and the location is perfect and beautiful. Everything was as expected. All of the staff members were wonderful except the male host that was there Thursday May 14 at the lobby bar. We were two people and he would not agree to let us wait by the bar for a table or to just have a drink. There were seats open and we were told guests of hotel are okay without reservations. His tone of telling us that there are no seats was rude and he was loud intentionally it seemed for others to hear us be declined entry. When asked when we could be called for a seat he said “oh I don’t know - an hour if at all possible”. Bar was not packed and there were seats at the bar for at least one of us and it would’ve been fine for the other to stand. Another lady coming out to the exit was also come paining about this question persons offensive tone. Not cool. What we like about 1 hotel is their laid back luxury. Anyways he did not ruin our trip and everyone else was wonderfully nice and the rooms were amazing. One final matter was that I dod not ask for an accessible bathroom room on my second stay there this week and they gave me one. The accessible room was very odd and the accessibility equipment which I did not need, was everywhere and for me, took away some Of the amenities like a closed in shower etc. "

"The Cumberland was a decent hotel overall. The bed was somewhat comfortable, you could feel its age and the underpinnings were lumpy and uncomfortable. The bathroom was clean but there were spots on the ceiling that raised some eyebrows. Gym was clean and well stocked. Reception was overall very helpful except for delays in housekeeping/maintenance arriving to solve a plumbing issue. Great value for money for London and the location for time of year."

"Great location for sure and the modern minimalist lobby is very nice. Rooms are simple but nice and bed was comfy. However cleanliness wasn't up to par. We found receipts on the floor from the previous guests and there were cigaret butts on the tiny terrace and the sink could have used a little wash down as well. Which means either they didn't clean it between guests or did a rush job. Which is also disappointing given that we had to pay 40 pounds to check in early because we arrived at noon and check I. Wasn't until 3. We would've just left our bags and gone exploring but it was 15 pounds per item so with 3 suitcases it was cheaper to pay to check in early. It's like they rush to get the rooms ready in order to do the upcharge for early check in thing. Probably also why check out is 10am (or you can pay to get a later check out). Not cool Zedwell ...not cool."
