"Location and service was excellent. Valet Parking was great, £25 for 24 hrs is cheaper than the nearest pay and display. We arrived really early and they had a room ready and offered early check in which was very handy for us. The breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and it was lovely. The downside is a very hard bed and no air con. "

"I often stay at this hotel, and the rooms are perhaps a little dated but always lovely. This time, I had an absolutely bargain priced single room on a Sunday night. The room was very small, but also very cute and cosy, and had everything I needed (that would have been included in a bigger/more expensive room) including a lovely bath. But, best of all, I had the most perfect sea view. I had the window slightly open all night and could hear the sound of the waves lapping...it was like being in another country. It was the most peaceful, and perfect, stay, and I hope I can get the same room again next time!"

"Very welcoming at reception, lovely restaurant & bar area. I stayed with my daughter and granddaughter in a room with a queen bed & a sofa bed, both were very comfortable- large tv screen & mini fridge. We had a very enjoyable weekend."

"The hotel appeared very nice on first impressions. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large, clean and tidy with a lovely river view. The only negative was the pillows were very flat so next time would ask for extras or bring my own. Very nice hotel would highly recommend. Excellent location in the centre of York."

"Lovely place to stay out of town and surrounded by beautiful gardens. There is a bus about 50m away that goes to York. Great place to stay and explore the area, then come home to an excellent spa and gym. Only grizzle is that the pillows weren’t great and I think if you’re staying there you should get a spa towel without paying for it! Make sure to book any spa treatment or restaurant early as they book out. "
