The room was very adequate, we found it very warm in and around the hotel. Found it a bit strange that there was just two plug sockets but all in all a pleasant stay.
Great location and very big hotel. Some area's need some investment. Bar staff helpful

The Grand has a wonderful structure and archetecture and I love staying there. The rooms are functional, clean, beds are comfy, shower works, breakfast is fair to good, restaurant view is spectacular, staff will certainly try and help you. The entertainment at this time of year summer good for children. It is not The Ritz but the views and position in Scarborough is. The seagulls spoil it sqawking and carrying on alarmingly !!

Enjoyed our one night stay while visiting to see a concert, we were in room 208 sea view, recently had a bathroom update by the look of it very clean. Have to appreciate this is a very old hotel and looks like parts are starting to get refurbished which is good. Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that.
Room was clean and when I asked for a new bathroom bulb it was sorted quickly by maintenance.
Sea gulls and pigeons make for a very bad mess around the exterior of the property.
Staff very friendly.
The balcony area needed more parasols.
Your parking cost, when given over the telephone menu said it was £8 so needs updating as the charge at booking in was £10.
Overall a good stay it is recommended.
No pool, no spa near by, no reduction on over night stay in the multistory car park, no room service, our room was flooded from above also an other person's room flooded when spoken to her, fire alarms went off in the night and during the day accidentally, fire door got jammed in the corridor so one person needed a rescue, lifts trapped people so fire brigade to rescue, Java lunch restaurant no staff so couldn't serve food from the menu, no hooks to hang the towels in the bathroom, carpets dirty and paint stained, fridges and electric fans full of grease dust, windows full of seagull droppings, can not open windows even if you want it to, smell and nesting of the seagulls around the building enormous, hotel rubbish collection overflow outside the building, not a fit hotel for paying customers.
Friendly staff, the history of the hotel and surrounding interesting and the scenery very nice.
Location, views, carpets, grandeur, ambience were epic.
A late train (51 minutes) meant that we missed dinner on arrival by 3 minutes. There was no alternative or refund. A broader range of meal times/ offers is needed.
Otherwise, staff went above and beyond to assist. I’m
Ovoid this hotel like the plague, it’s dated and needs extensive refurbishment, checked in online still waited 45 minutes to get a key, lifts are hit and miss if they work, room allocated was fine initially , seagull noise nothing you can do about that, TV didn’t work water started pouring down the wall, I assume someone on the next floor was having a shower, our shower controls fell to pieces, eventually given another room with what has to be the smallest shower cubicle ever, the extractor fan was on constantly and the toilet was flowing water all night, the good points it’s in a great location close to the town and transport, it’s such a shame for an iconic looking building

Fabulous location and once you get past the dated decor, this hotel has a lot going for it. Yes it’s not perfect but it has a certain charm and I’ll always book to stay here. Gorgeous beach views in certain rooms and the staff we came across were very friendly. You get what you pay for but we love it. Can’t be beaten on ease of access to the beach and sea front.

Clean room. Beach view was excellent breakfast very good
Was a little apprehensive when reading reviews but it was ok for an old building needs some TLC a Little out dated staff friendly. Room was ok booked an executive family room but not that executive would have been nice if breakfast was included with the price. The building is lovely inside good views over Scarborough. Beds were clean, only thing missing in room was a phone to contact reception it will keep you fit walking up and down the stairs if you don’t like lifts .
Grand location, right on the cliffs overlooking the beach and beachfront attractions. The Grand Hotel is Victorian era grandeur with charm but has seen better days. We found a bargain with some trade offs that were worth it for us.
Room/ bathroom beyond my expectations and staff efficient , friendly and welcoming. Good breakfast and altogether a great stay in this iconic hotel.
