Sanibel Island Beach Resort

10/10 Excellent

"This was our first trip to Sanibel Island and and it did not disappoint! The rooms were clean. We had easy access to the beach, 2 minutes walk, the beach chairs were already on the beach and waiting. Everyone was so accommodating and friendly. It was such a relaxing atmosphere. The Tiki bar was amazing! Our bartender made us an old fashion and a strawberry daiquiri that was spot on. The on sight restaurant was fantastic. The burgers were delicious, but the fish and chips were good as well. Our breakfast was egg, ham and cheese bagel with a carmel and a mocha frappe... in one word it was delicious! The shelling was so much fun and was not a disappointment. We certainly will be returning!!"

Pink Shell Beach Resort and Marina

10/10 Excellent

"The complimentary breakfast was fantastic. The room was very clean. Probably one of the best places we have been in a while. We own at a resort in Ormond and it’s all about don’t do this, don’t do that… it’s a joy kill and this place is nothing like that. I was disappointed in the ocean itself. Water is a bit murky but the dolphin activity was incredible."

Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa

10/10 Excellent

"We had a beach view and it was lovely. We would sit outside for our morning coffee and the view was lovely. I think I was most impressed with the front desk. I regret forgetting his name but he was so informative with every question we had. It was such a wonderful time and looking forward to our next get away."

DiamondHead Beach Resort

10/10 Excellent

"Oh man... I didn't think I was going to love this place as much as I did! I'm not typically a "resort" kind of person, but I fell in love with this place! Parking was easy, right near the elevator area (kind of confusing that you have to go upstairs to get to the actual lobby). Check-in staff was very helpful. Rooms have exterior hallways, which is nice, because you get great views from them, as well as balconies. Our room was clean, quiet, and extremely spacious! Kitchen, pub-height table w/barstools, living space, large bathroom, and very large bedroom. But I fell in love with the massive balcony that overlooked the pool, and the beach beyond. Two chaise loungers with a table, PLUS a patio table and chairs - ample space to enjoy the beautiful Florida weather and sunset. The pool area was clean and spacious - multiple families were there went I went down to enjoy the hot tub (around 9pm) which I had all to myself."

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Dinkins Bayou?

The best time to go to Dinkins Bayou is during the dry season, from November to April, when the weather is consistently pleasant and ideal for outdoor activities.

During these months, you can expect clear skies, lower humidity, and comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from the low 20s to high 20s Celsius. This makes it great for enjoying the bayou's natural beauty, whether you're out on the water or exploring the surrounding areas.

Couples looking for a relaxing escape will find this period particularly appealing. The cooler, drier weather is great for leisurely boat tours, kayaking through the mangroves, or simply enjoying a sunset from a waterfront restaurant without the intensity of summer heat and humidity.

For those interested in wildlife, the dry season often brings more opportunities for birdwatching and spotting local aquatic life as water levels change.
