Buxton Crescent

"We have stayed here a few times since it opened. To come to the spa is very much part of the break. The pools are lovely. Having paid for a junior suite we were then told it was £40pp for spa entry. What % of customers do not go to the spa. Really it is an increase in the room rate under a different guise and feels rather underhand. The breakfast also lacked some of the finesse of previous visits. The croissants and pastries seemed tough and probably cooked well before breakfast. The French toast was served on a piece of thin sliced bread. Not a fluffy plump piece of bread and had consequently burnt edges and generally not French toast. My husbands kippers were minute with a chunk of lemon on the side. Previously the lemon was in a linen cloth tied with a bow so pips were contained. It is the little touches that had all been cut back on, yet these tiny details are what made the crescent special and stood out from the crowd. I think Champagne's you are letting The Crescent down, which is such a shame. We have always recommended a stay now hesitant to do so."

"Staff were absolutely wonderful. My wife and I checked in around 10:30pm after a wedding reception. Personally at the desk found that of no inconvenience was cheerful and welcoming. Very clean and comfortable room. Slept like logs - logs don’t snore. Verry happy."

"The perfect property for a home from holiday. The cottage was very spacious, very clean and well equipped with everything you should need. It was lovely to have onsite parking.Jo was lovely very welcoming, and made you feel like a friend and gave some great eating places recommendations. It was so nice we are already planning to return next year."
