"This is a beautiful hotel - looks like its bread and butter is weddings. Excellent food and good gym."

"Clean rooms, great breakfast"

"Great location at the heart of Carlisle and close to cathedral and castle, perfect for sightseeing. Lovely to stay in a historic hotel that’s beautifully maintained and looked after. Gorgeous high ceilings, stained glass, marble and wood panelling, so much better than modern hotels where everything is plastic. Perfect for a weekend break."

"Room was very small and cramped but clean and ok for a one night stay"

"This property was pretty much all that we needed for our stay. Everything about it was perfect for us. The room was exceptionally clean as were the public areas. From the moment of checking in until we left the whole visit was perfect. The person at reception informed us that they had to only recently taken over the property and it was obvious that they are doing some fantastic upgrading work to the rooms as well as the public areas. It is a lovely venue and I would highly recommend it."

"Good location for town centre. Easy to park nearby. Very personable owner."
