Dirty rooms with horribly dirty and uncomfortable beds. The showers and bathrooms are the worst part. Pee covered and unsterile is just a nice way to describe half of the gross condition of the toilets and showers.

AVOID AT ALL COST!! The hostel was one of the worst I've ever visited. I was sold a dream by the pictures. Bedbugs on the bed and the sheets covered in blood from the bedbugs. Would not recommend staying here

This Hostel is in a great location in Amsterdam, just a 5 minute walk from museums, the Vondelpark, restaurants and downtown Amsterdam. We stayed in a double room which was very tiny but did the job. I will say it was not the cleanest, the room could have used a vacuum and a wipe down of windows and surfaces in general. The shower room was very dirty, very limited water pressure and only cold water. I heard theres hot water sometimes in the morning. Overall, great location, we felt safe but it was smelly and dirty.

The toilets are not regularly checked and tissues emptied. Same with the bin in our room, I had to ask for it to emptied on the 2nd day. Beds seem to be allocated randomly as I got in the room and my bed was already taken. Then i was told to take a different bed which was then allocated to another person who came and removed my belongings. People including your own staff smoking weed and cigarettes in front of the entrance despite notices. This is not healthy. Last few weeks, I left behind my waistcoat/vest and called immediately. I was told they'd ask housekeeping but no one had a record of my enquiry nor did they ask housekeeping. Lost item gone!

This maybe would have been fine if it was cheap, but for a private room booking it was comparable to a hotel in price, but way worse in quality. We ended up leaving after a few hours and finding something better. I should have paid more attention to the reviews but the photos are very misleading

Not true photos avoid !

Stock photos downloaded from the internet so a wee bit of a rip off No real kitchen and a toilet and sink on the third floor that’s described as a shower ! Sockets wired into the lighting system that only works when the lights are switched off . This place is so bad at £57 a night that I was compensated £50 with a goodwill voucher

Room 303 on the third floor, bust telephone dangerously unsafe because of the electrical wiring

Prior to arrival, we were asked to complete online check-in and offered a locker rental—no details provided. Since we arrived before the 15:00 check-in time, we assumed this was for temporary luggage storage. However, we were told no such locker existed and instructed to leave our belongings in the room, which was supposedly being cleaned. At 18:45, it still hadn’t been. The room was visibly dirty, dusty, and clearly not cleaned. We attempted to wipe surfaces ourselves with disturbing results. Beds were missing support legs, and the window was unhinged, posing a safety risk. It didn’t block noise or cold air and lacked a curtain, compromising comfort and privacy. The bathroom was in a shocking state—strong urine odor, barely running cold water, a clogged toilet, no toilet paper, and duct tape holding fixtures together. Hygiene and maintenance were clearly lacking. Communication issues among staff added to the frustration. We saw other guests facing similar confusion. More troubling was the indifference shown by staff; no one made an effort to help or welcome us. The experience was far below what was advertised. Due to false representation, unsafe conditions, and lack of care, we checked out early and informed staff on April 9. We were encouraged to file a complaint with customer service, but one week later, we’ve yet to receive a response.

Terrible hostel!!! Upon checking in, receptionist was extremely rude and when asked for a bottom bunk said no. But upon checking the room bottom bunks seemed available so I asked him again and he rudely said “I said no once, we close the conversation”. No welcome or have a nice stay. I also said I wasn’t sure which bed was mine. He rudely said “sir, are you okay?” and pointed to the number he wrote on the business card. However, I am attaching a video showing only 2 of 6 beds in Room 105 were marked so he’s the one that is disorganized and should be chastised. I then said he was very rude and I was travelling for 24 hours. He said “you make me laugh”. Really nice and professional isn’t it? Additionally: This place is FILTHY and DIRTY. There was no hand soap in the washrooms on most of all 3 floors, no toilet paper, no mirrors in the toilets on any floors to do your hair, no hair dryers, no towels, and cold water throughout the stay. The sink in Room 105 also wasn’t working as the second video shows. Wifi also wasn’t working well throughout the stay. Finally, dust and dirt is everywhere and coming out of the bathroom fans in huge clumps showing they haven’t cleaned the HVAC in months, if not years. It’s ironic considering the website says “friendly”. The receptionist made me feel unwelcome and unsafe and I was about to leave and go elsewhere.
