Beautiful hotel, good breakfast selection available Unfortunately the pool and hot tub were closed due to maintenance (one reason why we booked it) but didn’t effect our stay All the staff were very friendly and helpful and a very convenient location out of the hustle and bustle of the town but within a short walk

Great historical hotel, showing its age like a worn yet comfy corduroy couch. I would easily return. The room was massive, with huge windows and high ceilings. Loved every minute, and the staff was outstanding.

Stunning property good location , very nice spacious front facing room. Check in was slow , completed online check in prior to arrival , dropped our bags on arrival checked in again , collected bags when the room was ready and had to check in for a third time. Wonderful hotel, like a cross between The Continental and the hotel from The Shining! Extremely friendly and helpful staff, amazing breakfast, I had a junior suite for 4 nights which was huge, clean and well-appointed. Great location just a 10 minute walk from the Dam Square. Will definitely stay again.

Sad that the upper terrace was closed for renovation (enjoyed dinner there 3 years ago) - but loved our second stay! Gotta say we were concerned about noise from the street but the closed windows were virtually soundproof. Great location, staff and property. Until next time - thanks.

There was a small issue on the first day, but the manager resolved it promptly. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is beautiful, both inside and out.

Great location. Hotel is old and shabby. Much is outdated and not really architecturally. Interesting. Furniture is old and heavy. Good bathroom. Many electrical features not working properly. Heating/air-conditioning not working properly. Poor elevator service. An entry that is fairly impossible for anybody with a handicap. Really nice position on the canals. Close to great breakfast restaurants. Hate to write this kind of review, but this hotel has seen better days.

My only complaint was that the room felt too warm. Of course AC is rarely found in Europe, moreover, the hotel couldn't install it in their 100+ year old castle even if they wanted to. (Regulations) In any event, the super-helpful staff moved me to another room which felt cooler. I can't say enough about the great staff.
