"Close to the beach "
Hotel is close to the beach in a busy area of Waikiki. Room was adequate, lots of restaurants and stores close by. Waikiki is a busy area. Our room was on the 16th floor and we could still hear a lot of street noise throughout the night.

"Great location near Ala Moana Center"
the hotel is well maintained, the staff are friendly, it is located across the street from Ala Moana Center and the Honolulu Harbour. The public beach at the Yacht Club, Fort DeRussy beach and great shopping are minutes away on foot. Waikiki beach is about a half hour stroll. Public transit is close, and you can explore the island via the bus if you choose. Parking is 20.00 per day, but with limited parking in Waikiki it is a necessity if you rent a car. The room lacked a balcony, which would have been nice, it did tend to be a bit noisy, our room overlooked the back of the hotel, every morning at 3:00AM garbage trucks woke us up.

"Fabulous views"
Check in/out easy. Rooms were ready early, I requested rooms on high floor & that's what we were given. Views were incredible. Had separate bedroom & living room. Pool was fabulous, worth going up there for view. quiet & peaceful - great on days you want to escape beach & Waikiki in general. Hotel is in great location, 1 block from beach & 2 blocks from supermarket. Next time we will stay here again. Only complaint is $15 +tax amenity fee, unfortunately that's what most hotels are doing now. Highly recommended!!!

"Location, location, location"
Although the rooms are ok, the real reason to recommend this hotel is its location. It is located right on Fort Derussy Park and as a result has very few high rises near it. The beach is a beautiful short walk through the park, and it is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki to be quiet, but close enough to walk there (5-10 minutes to the heart of Waikiki). We usually stay on Kauai, but when we go to Honolulu, we always stay at the Luana Waikiki.

"Friendly Staff"
This hotel is a great choice if you want affordable accommodations that are pretty centrally located. It's not a 5 star, so don't expect the glam, but it's good value for the price. We also loved being able to use the hotel's bicycles and cycled throughout a lot of Waikiki. We are pretty active, so we walked to Ala Moana Shopping Center and the Ward Center, but that may be a bit far for some people. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel also offers a hydration area which is great for filling up the collapsible water bottles they give you on check-in.

"Great for young travelers "
The Stay Condos are around the corner from the regular stay hotel. The photos are exactly how the condos are. The condos are in a great location to shops, restaurants, beach and transportation. Trust when I say that was great because I did a solo trip and had no idea what was around. Instead of paying for a taxi I took the bus around which was right up the block and I walked to the beach everyday. Nice and safe area. I say these condos are for young travelers because there is nose at night from the surrounding area (nothing i couldn't sleep through) and there is no elevator so i had to carry my luggage up two flights of stairs. There was a big infestation of ants. On every counter. It was pretty creepy waking up and walking in the kitchen and seeing ants. The hotel really need to fix this. But i ate out everynight and really didnt have need for the kitchen so I left it how it was. Trust me people, you get what you pay for. These condos are not top notch but its convient and worth giving a try. I love the fact that when you go into the actual hotel across the street they had a karaoke bar and laundry facilities. The staff was excellent. I think if that was the deciding factor for if i will stay again.

"Decent hotel close to everything"
Happy for the most part cleaning staff is great, reception okay. Good location close to stores restaurants and beach. My only criticism is the hotel activities people. One told my wife all new hotel guest get a free beach buffet breakfast and only had to leave a $20 deposit which was refunded at the breakfast. But I realized it was not really a free breakfast, but a 2 hour time share presentation and we did not attend and lost our $20 deposit. False misrepresentation by the hotel activities staff.

Pocket Guide: Oahu Island Waikiki 3 stars Hotels

Waikiki established its reputation as a getaway when the Moana Surfrider opened its doors in 1901. Today, more than 30,000 hotel rooms are packed in the skyscrapers along the golden sands of Waikiki Beach. At the end of Waikiki, Diamond Head towers as an enduring landmark. West of Waikiki, Pearl Harbor offers a somber testament to history and the victims of World War II.
