Although the hotel seems to be a bit on the outskirts of central Hamburg it is only a few minutes walk from two stations and an easy 15 minute walk from the main railway station and the edge of the main shopping area. The staff are very helpful, and provided a kettle to supplement the coffee machine in the room, as I needed to have decaffeinated tea or coffee.
Don't expect good views from the rooms but there are plenty of other places for getting truly magnificent views . we had a most comfortable stay for 4 nights and would go back there.
You must visit Miniatur Wunderland which is either an easy train ride to the harbour area or about a 30 minute walk.
We were looking for a good value hotel as we were staying three nights. The location of this hotel suited us as we had a function to attend in the Mercure Hotel just across the canal (it was available but is a fair bit more expensive).
Breakfast is available for €13 though we did not have this as we had made other arrangements so can't comment on its quality.
The hotel has very clean rooms and a very nice breakfast ...
Every thing was perfect .. except that there no air conditioner in any rooms.. there is only a fan inside the room.. so i guess at summer it will be very difficult to stay there..
Internet connection was free and very fast .. every thing is professional ..
Also using subway, you can go to city center within 5 mins.
It was a pleasure to stay at the Ibis Hotel in Germany. All the staff were efficient at their job, friendly and obliging, and went out of their way to make sure guests had an enjoyable and stress free stay. The next time I visit Hamburg I will be booking in at the Ibis. And like the title says - I just can't fault the place!
This hostel provides its guests with a comfort that is over the mean expectance from a hostel. Regarding its price, its location is very good. No need to look for a hotel in Hamburg if you are quick enough.
