This was a lovely hotel and the staff were wonderful. The room was lovely and having the kitchenette allowed us to cater for ourselves. I highly recommend this hotel.

Not as good as at thinks

Nice hotel in good location. Breakfast very expensive at 26 euros per person so went to backerei nearby instead. Reception staff not welcoming or helpful. Bar staff great.

First time Hamburg

Hamburg is a city full of surprises. The Madison hotel was situated within easy walking distance of most of these attractions. The staff were friendly,approachable ready to share their knowledge of the city.I would recommend you stay there . Good all round experience

the staff at every level was wonderful. We stayed for 5 nights so having a washer and dryer down the hall (at no cost was super helpful) since we were traveling for a month. There is an onsite restaurant which is convenient but so many other options for more interesting dining. It is not right in the center of old town but short and easy walking distance to the old town and MANY other interesting attractions. We would come back here.

What a great hotel! Great location close to the river and U and S bahn, large comfortable rooms (ours was for 3 and had a kitchen), aircon, and SUCH great staff and facilities. We ate in the restaurant which was excellent and always busy with locals as well as guests; they were 20 mins late allowing us into our room and apologised with free drinks vouchers, and it was just so comfortable. Our teenager wanted to move in permanently! Absolutely nothing negative to report, I’d stay here again in a flash - and Hamburg was great, really interesting place with lots to explore.

Far too expensive

Extremely arrogant and unfriendly service in fitness and wellness. They do not want guests from the hotel. Staff at the hotel does not care about your stay at all. All they care about is how soon you leave.

We stayed at The Madison 2 days before and after for our 7 day cruise. Coming from the US, one of the concierge, Mr Fingers, prearranged obtaining info on a Christmas Oratorio at the nearby St Michael’s Church for us. We had many questions for him about transportation, nearby restaurants, taxi service to the docks and airport, etc. He eased our minds with responsive and timely answers before we ever left. This was our first trip to Europe and being seniors were concerned about many things. When we arrived at The Madison, the entire staff was helpful. The studio room was perfect for our needs. On Christmas Eve Day our cruise ship returned to Hamburg at 7:00 am. We returned to The Madison at 9:00am to store our bags until the 3:00pm checkin. They gave us our room immediately upon arriving which was so much appreciated. After attending a concert later in the day, we returned to our room to find a lovely Christmas basket of fruit and candies. We found the restaurant downstairs (Marley’s) very good. And across the street is The Amber Cafe which was great for soups, sandwiches and pastries. This hotel is highly recommended for cost and service.
