"Brathay Lodge makes for a very comfortable and convenient stay in the Lake District. The room was modern and well-maintained and the staff friendly and considerate. There is a parking fee (unless booked direct) but you’d have to pay elsewhere anyway. If you have an electric car it’s a good idea to let them know in advance so you can use their reasonably-priced ProjectEV charger. The continental breakfast was fresh and varied and set us up for the day. Would definitely stay there again. "

"Good communication prior to arrival as we were arriving outside normal check-in hours. Clean and comfortable facilities gave us a great night's sleep. Very good breakfast served by a host who was genuinely friendly and welcoming. Only there for one night as on our way elsewhere but definitely a place to use if staying in Penrith."

"The area was amazing . The room was well appointed however I had a couple of issues. I had little or no hot water / heating throughout my visit. There was an infestation of fleas in the kitchen window area. The fridge door shelf was broken meaning I couldn’t store orange juice in it. However with all this aside , I really enjoyed my stay and the bar has some of the best Guinness I’ve ever had."

"Stayed for 2 nights as we were attending a wedding nearby. We were met by John, the owner, who was very helpful in suggesting raxi firms to use. We were allocated a a room on the top floor which was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and all freshly cooked. Overall a very enjoyable stay."
