"Check in was challenging. Receptionist was obviously new. That’s absolutely fine but she was clearly struggling and there were another two staff members who could have easily and should have stepped in but didn’t until asked. Final straw was when I asked for clarification of complete confusion re payment. She said “ I think so”. Longest check in ever. Doubt very much I’ll stay at the Moxy again. Still not sure about payment till I see my statement. "

"Lovely staff. Good location near the centre. Mattress protector was covered in blood. We had to ask for it to be changed. Not just a spot almost a murder scene. Repeatedly requested another duvet as two of us were sharing a double bed staff kept saying yes but one never materialised . Surely an establishment of this size should have a spare duvet. The room we were given was absolutely freezing with a gale blowing through the window just at head height as you lay in bed and as the room was so small there was no way of moving away from this. we had a terrible night sleep. We were removed to a twin room which was more acceptable and we could at least move around. The ‘cosy’ rooms are very, very small. Tea and coffee making facilities are in the foyer but the coffee had always run out and the hot water would always run out so it wasn’t really very satisfactory. The staff are trying their best, but they can’t really check people in and be constantly refilling coffee. I cannot recommend this hotel and I would never stay there again."

"This is my first time at a hostel and I must say, I wouldn't have had a better experience. This place is right in the heart of everything just steps of the Royal Mile. Rhe staff was super helpful, the vibe was perfect. I will absolutely come back!"
