"A Little Jewel in Ueno!"
Delighted to find the Centurian in Ueno. The entrance is quite small and almost missed it, but so glad I didn't! My room was small, but the bed and pillows very comfortable. Very clean and the bonus of a door that opened onto a small balcony! Fresh air! The food at the restaurant was wonderful. All in all, fit my budget and loved the location.

"The staff were SO friendly, Cafe was awesome!"
When we arrived we were greeted by smiles, the staff helped carry all our bags up to our room (and they were heavy bags!!), Cafe downstairs was deeelicious! Spent many nights playing jenga and many breakfasts enjoying sandwiches and coffee. Really great atmosphere in a down to earth hotel, super clean and super modern. They carry all the great books and maps of Tokyo and Timeout in the cafe and were so helpful! Will definitely be visiting again! Great location too, so close to the zoo and ueno restaurants. Situated in a quiet street, there wasn't any noises or disturbances during our stay- so relaxing! There isn't a lift, but as written in the hotel, "Take the stairs for your health", and it is so true and I was so glad to be forced to act on my health and not be lazy taking the lift like i usually would. Laundry was great also! And the no shoes policy really made me feel like the rooms were being kept in a clean, conscious environment. I love Hotel Graphy Nezu!!!!

"Convenient and excellent value!"
Everything you could ask for in a hotel: convenient, clean, friendly staff. They also have decent amenities like free hot tea and coffee which was super helpful when we came back from a long day out. Room was comfortable, clean and cosy. The cleaning services was top notch-on the days we asked to 'Please Do Not Disturb' ie no need to clean, the maid would still supply fresh towels! Breakfast is basic bread, coffee and cereal but I personally still really enjoyed it as it was heaps filling. I would definitely recommend people stay here.

"Special hotel"
This is a wonderful hotel to stay in. It is wonderfully managed with a friendly, helpful staff. The location is ideal because it is 1. quiet 2. close to the subway 3. close to all the Ueno Park and Yanaka attractions. Best of all it is a gorgeous place to stay. If arriving in Japan for the first time, I recommend this hotel as it will immerse you in the culture and yet enable you to feel comfortable. Hotel is stunningly clean, beautiful and efficient. Many thanks!

"Centrally located hotel for tourists."
Excellent hotel. Rooms are smaller than american hotels, but clean, with bathrooms Its Right near very important tourist activities in the city. With nice views of a small city lake and park. 5 minutes walk from the train and subway stations so you can catch a direct train to the airport, or take the local trains around the city. The hotel has a nice spa (currently free) to relax in a hot tub or get a mechanical chair massage. ( massages by humans are not free). The hotel food is excellent The staff speaks enough English to get directions or get activity ideas. The little things like phone chargers in the room were also nice touches.

Pocket Guide: Tokyo Ueno 3 stars Hotels

This area offers a glimpse of what life was like before the economic boom of the 1970s and 1980s. Neighboring Asakusa, it is best known for the Ameya-yokocho Arcade, a busy market with interesting stalls. Ueno-koen, a sprawling park with monuments, zoo, pagodas, and a pond, is a must-do. Museums and galleries abound in the area.
