"I was visiting John Muir Woods, which is north of San Francisco and used Expedia to search for a hotel. When the “John Muir Lodge” was suggested by Expedia I booked it. But … The “John Muir Lodge” suggested by Expedia is 260 miles away from the John Muir Woods. Granted, it’s my own fault for not being more careful but SOMEONE AT EXPEDIA should apply some common sense to their suggestions. "

"The cabin is just as described: cozy, and well suited for a single traveler or a couple. The weather was excellent while I was there, so walking between the sleeping quarters and the shower and toilet buildings was no issue, although travelers should bear this in mind if they are expecting inclement weather. The composting toilet was new for me, but there was no appreciable odor. I found all of the accommodations to be very clean, in good condition, and welcoming. The owner responded quickly to all questions and was very pleasant to deal with."

"This property is the perfect location for getting away to visit Sequoia National Park. We were close enough for an easy drive into the park, yet far enough from the highway you wouldn't even know it was there. The property is very private and far back on the road that we only saw a few cars in the fours days we were there. The property has a lot to offer, we fished, played horseshoes, picked flowers for the house, played on the swings, and the kids did their version of a cold plunge in the river. This would be a very nice swimming hole in the summer when the water warms up. We really enjoyed the sounds of the river, this is all you hear the whole time, nothing else. The property was very pleasant, and we had peaceful time staying there. I would definitely recommend it to anyome staying in this area."

"Shower drain had hair in it. Carpet tack strip with the nails was exposed on the floor in front of the bathroom. Surfaces were dusty. We chose this place based on the location but will not be returning."

"Best vacation cabin! Ben gave great precise instructions and always available for questions. Cabin was very clean and in perfect condition. Loved the pellet stove. Perfect heat and very cozy. Outside deck and fire pit was used nightly. Loved the party lights. I would highly recommend this listing. We are a family of 8; 4 adults and 4 children. Perfect size!"
