"We were given a room upgrade - even so the bathroom had lights that didn't work, chipped tiles, and poor repairs in areas of the bathroom. Eight restaurant was very noisy and even though we asked for another table, the waitstaff argued that we would be too far from the food and seated us in the centre of the noisiest section of the room. The food was underwhelming and not worth the price we had to pay and the place reminded us of a scrum in a shopping centre food hall. The hype on the Cordis website sure didn't match the reality and we left after only a short while, nearly $300 out of pocket, as the overall experience was not pleasant. On the positive side, we ate in the Chandelier Lounge the following evening and had some really excellent food. The leek ash crusted lamb rump was sublime. However the crispy duck fat potatoes were not at all crispy - they were soggy and had been finished in duck fat that was just not hot enough so there was no crispy exterior and fluffy interior. The bar service in the Chandalier Lounge was also pretty average - it's all well and good to offer fancy in-house cocktails but a waste of time if you don't also cover the basics like knowing how to make a martini if a customer asks for one. Our overall experience was underwhelming and we doubt we'll come back."

"I checked out early however the receptionist could give me a receipt to show I paid the extra night because it hadn't posted. She said she would email to ke however I haven't received it and it's been more than 24 hrs. Otherwise the hotel was nice. The carpets need cleaning. The restaurants around the property are very good."
