The company filed for bankruptcy a week prior to us arriving
The property is renovated and in good conditios, we only had a problem with our stay because the Marriott was associated with them and because of the contract ended they asked us to leave so we had to encounter some trouble in our vacations

We chose to stay at the Sunset due to its location and walkability to Stanley Park, the museum, Vancouver Aquarium, Granville Island and the downtown area as a whole. We flew into Vancouver late in the evening and the staff ensured that we had the info to gain entrance to the hotel and our room by emailing it to us earlier that day. We stayed in a superior king room and it had all the amenities we needed - a well stocked kitchen and private bedroom. We bought some groceries at shoppers and ate breakfast in our room. I loved the scents of soaps and lotions in the kitchen and bathroom and having the amenity cupboard in the hotel lobby made it easy to grab extra coffee, tea or other supplies we needed. There is an umbrella stand in the entry, but we didn't use them as we brought our own. On checkout day we took advantage of the luggage lockers as our flight didn't leave until supper. We locked up our luggage and walked to the aquarium. After we came back to the hotel, grabbed our luggage and walked to the yaletown roundhouse station and took the skytrain to the airport. It was very convenient.
Overall, we enjoyed our trip to Vancouver and the Sunset Hotel was perfect for our needs. We were here during the week and the hotel was nice and quiet during our stay. It is downtown, so some road noise/sirens were heard.
The reason for my poor rating was the way we found out about the termination of the partnership between Sonder and Marriott Bonvoy—through an email. We were asked to leave by 9 a.m., which wasn’t ideal since I had hoped to sleep in before catching my afternoon flight. I was recovering from a flu/cold, so getting the rest I needed wasn’t an option, and the situation actually made me anxious. I understand that things can happen abruptly, but I wasn’t prepared for this, especially while I was still recovering.
