This property is hidden down an alley near a residential neighborhood and steps from lively Wangfungin pedestrian street offering high end shopping, street entertainment and metro, with Tiananmen Square & Forbidden City easy walking distance. Location is superb. There are massive hotel brands nearby but this felt cozy. Fang Fang, the consistently smiling host, and front desk work hard to accommodate non Chinese speaking guests and can assist with any plans including Great Wall and Tiananmen Square access last minute. Breakfast leaned towards authentic chinese fare and delicious. Cats in courtyard and free tea and coffee make this a memorable stay.

We lived in Beijing many years ago, and we wanted to bring our four kids- ages 5 to 12 to see China. This hotel was perfect. Every kid had a bed, and the staff was very helpful. The subway is about a 10 minute walk away, and the location is close to some major attractions. If you aren’t familiar with Beijing, make sure you hit HouHai near by.

Very basic breakfast. Very poor English-speaking staff. Charged my credit card twice by mistake. The bathroom doors had big gaps, so if you’re travelling with kids, prepare for no privacy. 24/7 construction next door made sleeping difficult. Location was good. The place was clean, though. Value for money? I don’t think so.
