Planters Inn on Reynolds Square

8/10 Good

"NICE LOCATION. Very helpful staff. Roderick, the bell attendant, helped us with numerous suitcases and boxes then valet parked our vehicle. They had a lovely wine hour in the lobby that was very well attended. Nice touch. The view from room was not very appealing, parking structure across the street. But the location made up for it. Definitely recommend."

Marriott Savannah Riverfront

8/10 Good

"The hotel was great; very clean, nice amenities, easy check in, and friendly staff. The room was comfortable, spacious, and had everything I needed for my work trip. The proximity to the conference center, shopping, dining, and sightseeing was great. I had one negative issue, and unfortunately, it was a significant enough to prevent my return. The hotel has posted quiet hours beginning at 10pm. However, the bar serves until midnight. The first night wasn't terrible, just the occasional loud bursts of laughter or raised voices. For the remainder of my stay, the bar played football games until last call. The noise of the game and the loud patrons echoed throughout the atrium, (which all balconies overlook) and could be clearly heard in my room. When I called the desk to inquire about why the noise was permitted to continue beyond the quiet hour, I was informed that there was nothing that could be done, as long as the bar was open. The man was very kind and polite, but it was clear that the concern was out of his hands. Needless to say, I did not sleep well and was exhausted by the end of my trip. Traveler beware - quiet hour may begin much later than advertised."

Cambria Hotel Savannah Downtown Historic District

10/10 Excellent

"The staff was amazing! hotel was so clean and with good walking distance to a lot in the historic downtown of Savannah. The beds may have been the most comfortable beds I have ever experienced in a hotel. It was me and my wife's anniversary and it was very memorable."

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Thunderbolt?

The best time to visit Thunderbolt is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) when the weather is most pleasant for exploring.

During spring, the temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 18°C to 25°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities like strolling along the waterfront or visiting nearby Savannah. The local flora is in full bloom, adding to the area's appeal. This period is particularly good for couples looking for a romantic getaway with comfortable conditions for dining alfresco and enjoying scenic walks.

Autumn also offers excellent weather, with temperatures similar to spring, usually between 20°C and 27°C. The humidity is lower, and there's less chance of heavy rain, providing clear skies great for sightseeing. Families often find autumn a great time to visit, as the cooler weather is more comfortable for children to explore the parks and historic sites without the intense summer heat.

While summer (June to August) can be hot and humid, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C, it's a popular time for those who enjoy water activities. Winter (December to February) is generally mild but can be chilly, with average temperatures around 10°C to 15°C, and some days can be quite cool.

Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy.
