Great house in a great location
Very clean property with all the amenities. Close to all the Te Anau activites - boating, biking, hiking and a great home base for Milford and Doubtful Sounds. We're very happy we chose to stay at Laybak Retreat.

Nice spot to visit the area
As advertised, a clean and convenient home in a quiet neighborhood. Nice garden to sit in after a day of hiking or sightseeing. Really enjoyed our stay.

Great house, with all the little touches
A great weekend away in Ta Anau. House was cosy and well presented, with lots of little touches and extras, like condiments, herbs, toiletries, etc. Loved the large, fully fenced lawn for the dog.

Clean, bright, comfy retreat in a quiet neighborhood close to downtown. Slider opens onto spacious deck and beautiful yard. One of our best accommodations in NZ.

We loved this cosy little property. Close to the shops, lovely back yard and well equipped with everything we needed. We have to mention the cleanliness……. It was impeccable. I am a clean freak myself and this property exceeded my own standards! Would absolutely stay again.

We had a great stay at this house. We appreciated the large garden, indoor and outdoor sitting areas, cleanliness of the property, and the ease of settling in here (spices, shampoo, etc, were all provided). Thanks very much for making our time memorable!

Lovely place to stay
Lovely little home for our short stay. Had everything that you need. Quiet neighbourhood. Only downside was the mattress in the master bed was very soft so not very comfortable for me. Everything else was great.

Perfect stay
The property was in the perfect location for local everything. Good restaurants, tourist things to do, and huge park in lake all within 5min or less. House is clean and had all amenities listed. Loved how the slider doors pulled open large onto the covered patio. Thanks for the great stay!

A short 1 night stay made very pleasant by the use of bikes.
Between an overnight cruise at Doubtful Sound and a 3 day hike at Routburn Track, this home was a perfect stop for 1 night. There was a slight misunderstanding about door code but once we were in, all was well.

Lovely Base
Perfect little spot to come back to after exploring Te Anau and Milford Sounds. Absolutely everything you need. Loved watching the changing weather through the open sliders and from the covered deck. Recommend for a family.

Fabulous little getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was really clean and comfortable had absolutely everything we needed and was close to town. Loved the deck and bean bags for catching the afternoon rays with a glass of wine.

This place could do with a bit more comfort. Sofa and beds were not that comfortable. Towels were thin, bed sheets on the main bed had some residual hairs on them. If you use the washing machine and dryer, they are in the living room/kitchen, so its noisy. We stayed in nine different places during our South Island trip and this was the only one we left a day early to move on. Got the rainy days blues here.

Nice bach, well equipped with sunny covered deck area. Great base to explore a fantastic region. Maybe a bit too pet friendly for our liking, but the kids loved the open space and outdoor games.

Fabulous family escape
A beautifully set up property. Had everything we needed and more for a family of five plus dog. Easy walk into town. Spent one day walking Milford track and one day on the Kepler. A great base.

The property was fantastic and perfect for us and our 2 dogs. Well fenced section, with plenty of room. House was great with everything you needed in the kitchen for cooking. Location was nice and close to town and great for heading to the lake for walks. We will definitely be back!

Everything was easy, Jo’s communication was friendly and fast. The house is lovely and cosy and was in a good location with a great view of the mountains. The trampoline, lawn games and bikes were a real bonus. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Just perfect for our family getaway to te anau. Filled with all the comforts that make travelling with young kids just that little bit easier... Washing machine and dryer, board games, dvds, toy chest, trampoline, lawn games. All so appreciated! Easy to heat wee house, fully equipped kitchen, plenty of towels and blankets. Not really anything more we could have asked for. Easy stroll to town and the lake too, I didn't get in the car once the whole time we were in Te Anau. Thank you for sharing your house, it was lovely.
