Good value
The room didn’t look the greatest but the bathroom was sparkling clean and the fun atmosphere of the place was very nice. Overall I think it was great value.

Great value for an overnight stop in Taupo
Stayed in a family room with our baby. Great value close to Taupo centre. Beds ok for one night. Love the big kitchen. Friendly owners. Would stay again!

Very unique and welcoming. I found the bed quite uncomfortable, but I was not expecting luxury, so, in balance, this was not bad. I really liked that the operator had put the heater on in our room. This kind of service is what makes a difference. My grandson loved the games room and rated the lodge as the best accommodation of our 10 trip.

The price was great and the location is ideal: close to everything yet quiet at night. It felt like a very nice community for all types of travellers and had a friendly and retro atmosphere.

The staff was friendly and very helpful/informative about the area! Unfortunately the room did not seem to be cleaned properly - there were pills left on the floor, there was hair on the bathroom floor and wall, as well as a half used soap bar also covered in hair... If the room had been cleaned properly I think our overall experience would have been great. A little unfortunate but I guess that’s all part of the travel experience.

Thanks for the comments. We are a little out of town -- but the closest accommodation to the free hot springs -- that's a real bonus.

Clean rooms. Good flatisaties, nice that family can have their own room together with bathroom it’s just a shame some of the stayers are loud by talking to each other loudly outside the doors and if they have a shower late or early in the morning you it’s a bit of a pain

This Lodge is close to everything. Its close to the town center, supermarkets, restaurant, and even lake Taupo as well. The kitchen is pretty big and equipped, shared dinning room is pretty big, paid laundry is on site, and free parking.

Service fantastic, friendly and welcoming. Clean and tiidy and in a quiet area. Only issue was the single bed in room 14 where you could feel the boards of the base thru the mattress. It made for an uncomfortable and browkn sleep.

Experience was okay, but not great. Plusses - inexpensive, friendly staff, plenty of parking. Minus side - everything felt old and tired, room was small, no bathroom amenities - not even soap, some people didn't clean up well after themselves in the kitchen/eating area.

The lodge is made to look old and retro, its not a glass 5 star Hotel. Perhaps you should look at the pictures before you travel - then you will know what you get. We don't have amenities because we are a backackers, Not the Hilton... once again - please do some research before you travel... that's why we have the internet !!!

Above average backpacker hostel close to the CBD of Taupo is well maintained, close to shopping, food and sightseeing like Lake Taupo. Duty staff are pleasant and knowledgeable, check in was speedy, WiFi works great. Free parking is available on and off street. Beds are comfy. Good value, would definitely come back.

Perfect location for a stop in the city
Perfect for backpackers travelers. You have everything you need. Clean bedroom, big and nice kitchen, spacious dinning room, free parking and there is also a room with games like darts, pool and table tennis. The owner is really kind and helpful. We only stay one night but I would definitely recommend it !

Good size unit with bathroom attached. Bed is comfy and facilities were all there. Didn't really have time to use them as we were only in for a day. We forgotten to close our window and have it open till night, so there were quite some insects that we have to kill before we sleep 😅

Great service, designed well but has thin walls
Service was friendly right from when I arrived. The kitchen is designed well (for more than 2 users for example) large dinning space and some chill out areas. In a quite area of town - about a 15 minute walk to the centre of town - I understand they have a free shuttle but not sure how frequent that, I also so bikes there but not sure if they were free or you had to hire them. The only down side was that the walls are a bit thin and the doors can be quite noisy when you open and close them - so you may want to use ear plugs. I stayed in the double room - was very spacious although sparsely furnished. I would stay again. I think it is good value for money for what you get.

Comfort and quiet suburb location
Quiet and relaxing. Good host and quality pillow etc for a great night sleep. Good facilities to relax. Bit far from town centre as its in a suburb but otherwise a worthwhile place to stay .

Great lodge
We loved staying here. Brett the owner is so helpful. Room was really comfy and facilities were excellent. I highly recommend this place. Quiet too so slept really well in very comfy bed.
