"We had two issues with this hotel stay. One is that the Expedia title for the property is ”Stay in National Park Village”. The property is actually 3 km away from National Park Village on a Main road with a lot of traffic. If you rent the top room with the balcony you overlook this busy road. It was not as peaceful as expected. National Park Village is a misnomer also as it is not in the park but at the access point to enter the park. It’s a further 14 minute drive to get to the parks visitor center from “National Park Village” Aside from the misunderstanding about the location the bed we had was so firm as to be uncomfortable, the shower in the room was very small. The continental breakfast was a positive."

"Good location, especially for the Teranaki Falls walk, but also for Tongoriro Crossing (20 minutes drive to the trail head). The staff was friendly. The room was clean and as-described. The property is a little old/dated. Also, the hot tub is only available 3pm to 8pm and you need to reserve a 30-minute slot (on the plus side you get the hot tub to yourself for the 30 minute slot, and the clean it fully every day). "

"Everything was ok and Plateau Lodge is one of the best we have stayed for our hiking trips. The only little problem is just photo displayed when I booked. It shows a nice outdoor bath tub, so I expected the room I booked looks like this. However, that is indeed for another room type."

"We LOVED our stay at the Rotokauwau Woolshed. Value for money, beautiful views, chill vibe. The place had everything we needed for a peaceful few days. Warm beds with lots of blankets. Really good pressure in the shower! Evan was so accommodating and had great communication. He checked in to make sure we were happy and everything was right. Highly recommend for somewhere a bit out of the ordinary and memorable. Thanks Evan for hosting our group, we hope to be back soon :-)"

"The bedsheets is a little smelly to my standards but all in all it is a nice place to stay. Value for money. It has everything you need. The kitchen has everything and it is clean. Warm showers and clean toilets. It is very near to Tongariro national park so the location is very good! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"
