The Mountain Heights Lodge was lovely. Fabulous hosts, very comfortable and spacious rooms. Convenient for the walking trails. Short drive to cafes (The Station for great coffee and just opened for dinner) and pubs.

We really enjoyed our one night stay at Mountain Heights Lodge. Our room was comfortable and spacious, the continental breakfast was great. Maria and her husband were really great hosts. We wish we could have stayed longer.

The stay was even better than imagined. The owners were so accommodating. They helped us to get better WiFi and provided us snacks as well. The main lodge area was comfortable and quiet to work as well. Such nice people!

A wonderful stay at Mountain Heights Lodge, highly recommended. The hosts, Karl and Maria, are very friendly and helpful, gave us useful information on food opitons & trails when checking in Room (motel unit) was clean with full equipped kitchenette. The private Spa pool is a plus, relax after a full-day hiking.

Clean and comfortable

Fabulous stay. We had deluxe room in the lodge with balcony. Room was spacious and clean. Bed comfortable. Breakfast provisions provided were very generous. Definitely recommend. A great base to explore national park.

We enjoyed our stay, appreciating the quiet location and pretty view. The self serve breakfast in the breakfast nook hit the spot. Our second floor room was airy and well appointed. Regretfully we only spent a single night. The lodge is conveniently located for visiting the national park.

This is an excellent location for staying around the National Park. We stayed here so we could hike the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, it is one of the shuttle stops and picked us up right at the hotel, and after our hike brought us back to the hotel. The hotel manager emailed us the shuttle reservation link, so it made it super easy to plan our adventure!

We had a beautiful sunny room in the lodge that was clean and very comfortable. The wood stove on the first floor was delightful on a chilly evening. The breakfast room had a very nice self-serve continental breakfast. The hot tub was the best we experienced in New Zealand! National Parks Village two restaurants were close by and all the Tongariro Park activities were close by. Loved it.

Adequate but basic

We thought this lodge was expensive for what we got - not good value for money at all. But that is probably due to its location, close to the National Padk. We stayed in the lodge itself and the room was very small with a really tiny bathroom - nothing like the photos on Hotels.com. It was cold when we arrived and it took the small heater provided a long time to heat the room. The breakfast was very basic - left in fridge for us.
