The Butcher's shop was wonderfully clean and everything we wanted was there (including local honey and home made jam). It is an old building which has been restored and renovated, so is very comfortable, but does have some interesting features like uneven floors in part. It is right on the main road, but there is so little traffic it is very quiet. I had to call the owners the morning we were about to arrive about a potential issue unrelated to the venue and they were very helpful. Remember that the only food available in Whangamomona is at the pub, and there is no store. Also no WiFi at the Butcher's shop, nor cell phone coverage in the town, But there is a quirky mini golf course there! If you want to get away from the city for a while, it is a fantastic place to go!
