"Our room was very characterful with lovely old floorboards and nice padded chairs. Super king sized bed (very comfortable). Nice selection of drinks with specialised fruit teas and hot chocolate provided in the room. Overall the accommodation is very spacious and full of period charm. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The Hotel is well placed for days out to Powis Castle, lake Vyrnwy, Barmouth and many local RSPB reserves. I recommend the vegan curry."

"This old coaching inn has been well revamped, service is first class. The food was excellent with good response to individual needs. Although pricey the rooms were up to a high standard. The roll top bath, with no screen, was a triumph of design over functionality. There was nowhere to put the soap! Having a shower without flooding the floor was tricky.
