"We were only in Kyoto for two nights, but found the Brighton to be centrally located to the areas we wanted to explore. Cabs were always available for hire at the from entrance. Rooms were large and clean, with amenities such as pajamas and toiletries included. Large soaking tub made for a relaxing end to a long day of walking. Mineral salts for bath were provided, which were a nice touch. You cant beat the price for this level of luxury. We did not take advantage of any of the restaurants in the hotel, but they do have a breakfast buffet available for a cost. Overall, would definitely return to this property."

"This was one of the best hotel stays I've ever had. The staff and customer service stood out to me. We were greeted warmly and the staff were incredibly helpful. Thanks to my Hotels.com/Key Cash status, we were gifted our choice of a free beer or apple juice upon check in, plus daily gift coupons that we could trade at the hotel's convenience store for sodas, popsicles (which were welcomed in the heat!), chips, or more. The lobby area also had custom stamps for all you stamp collectors. I enjoyed using the hotel's amenities. We used the onsen almost every night to recover from our long days of walking. At the end of the stay, we used the hotel washer & dryer. We added on the morning breakfast option, which I highly recommend since most breakfast cafes in Japan don't open until 10 or 11 AM. The breakfast buffet was tasty and also came with an option to order a main dish. Lastly, for the room itself, it was clean and spacious. We were lent pajamas to use for the hotel's onsen. The cleaning was thorough. I chose the hotel upon the recommendation of a friend, and I will surely pass on a HIGH RECOMMENDATION for anyone else who is looking for a well-located hotel stay in Kyoto."

"Loved the huge king size bed. It was two doubles put together. The shower was amazing! We booked 4 different hotel stays in Japan on this trip and this is hands down the best and the lowest cost! It’s right across from the train station and easy to get to different places in Kyoto. If you plan to use the gym, the stationary bikes are very uncomfortable to sit on. The free drinks station in the lobby is a nice bonus!"
