"We had a sea view room which was nice comfortable and clean with a good bed. All the necessary things worked well - shower bath and toilet. View was ok but spoilt slightly by the window privacy stripes to stop hotel rooms across the road seeing in or hide the large flat roof before the sea view. It is a work in progress and they are doing their best with a good bar and

"It was a lovely place to stay. A Victorian villa which still has many original features, including beautiful stained glass windows. The room was clean and tidy and the hosts were most hospitable. "The Havelock is a beautiful hotel, warm welcome, view of the sea, great little bar area, delicious breakfast with good choices and meat from local butcher. Close to the sea front and old town, convenient for bars and restaurants. The bed was a bit old with a dip in the mattress but that's my only quibble. I'd definitely stay there again."
