"We travelled to Florence by train, and the Croce di Malta hotel was a great place to stay because of it's proximity to the train station while also being close to the major sites of the city. The room was very standard with a comfortable bed and enough space to be able to get around without tripping over things. The bathroom was also decent sized and met all of our needs very well. Our room also had access to a small outside sitting area with a great view of the tiled roofs of Florence and the countryside in the distance. Breakfast was provided, and had a good selection of the traditional Italian pastries along with American breakfast options. There are many patisseries in the area, but the hotel breakfast was a convenient alternative The hotel sits just steps from the piazza of Santa Maria Novella which also had a variety of dining options. Also, sites such as the Uffizi Gallery, the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and others are within 10 to 15 minutes on foot. The hotel was also good starting point just to wander the streets of Florence and make our own discoveries."
