"We loved everything about the stay! The owners were super super friendly and helpful. The cabin and grounds were clean. We killed a few spiders, one being a black widow. Spiders are expected everywhere. Just something for owners ro be aware of. We loved the fire pit, swings, games, grill access. Al around we give this place 5 stars!"

"Great stay, beautiful detached private house with no stairs on one level. Grand views of lake, trees, and mountains. Private and very quiet. Nice host who, on request, oriented us to the place and local attractions. Spacious and comfortable. Appliances like new: Full fridge, range/oven with over the range microwave, large high efficiency washer & dryer. Large closet. New walk-in shower with good pressure. All wood floors and cabinets. Notice the lovely painting in the bathroom by the host....

"There was plenty of rooms and plenty of bathrooms. The property itself wasn’t as clean as it could be. There were some cobwebs up in the corners and the windows weren’t clean. The outside wasn’t well maintained. There was some lights that didn’t have bulbs in them. The toilet tissue holders in the bathroom were broke. One of the windows was broke as far as the mechanism to open and close it. But overall, it was a pretty great place."

"The house sits a little outside of town but in a nice neighborhood. The 3 level house was very nice and can hold several families and has a nice living area with a somewhat small kitchen but it was not a problem at all. It was very clean and nicely furnished. The only issue we had was regulating the temp at night in the house with 3 levels. The folks on the bottom floor were comfortable but the people on the top 2 floors were a little warm. "Amazing stay at Tripp Creek Farmhouse! Pictures do not do the place justice. The location was perfect as we felt secluded but were right between downtown Durango and the Purgatory area for hiking and travel up to Silverton and Ouray. We even saw black bear and mule deer right in the backyard!! We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on our next trip to Southwest Colorado!"

"We had an excellent stay overall. The home was clean and well stocked with just about everything that we needed. The only critique that we have is that the owner locks all of the thermostats and it was over 80 degrees in some of the bedrooms at night. For the price we’re paying, this should not be a concern."

"The house is very pretty and big. Great size for our group. Views are fantastic. The couch and beds were comfy and it was fun to have some games and toys provided. Our biggest complaints are that there was some discrepancy over whether there was a hot tub or not (as there used to be but is no longer) and that there is no AC. (I will say the host responded well and cleared up the confusion over the hot tub very satisfactorily). Being from the PNW, we're no strangers to houses not built for AC, however some of the windows didn't open or didn't have screens or had screens with holes or had no curtains, and the house did get quite hot in the late afternoon/early evening (75-80 degrees per thermostat). One bedroom (master) did have a wall AC unit and we wished the other 2 bedrooms would have had that as well."

"My fault for not looking closely to the A/C, assumed central air but symbol was window units. Photos do not show window units. Three of the upstairs bedrooms were overly warm in the hot July afternoon, only ceiling fans and floor fans. Windows open before bed, fans on and by morning rooms were a reasonable temperature. A small hole in the kitchen ceiling and one downstairs bedroom floor were a little distressing. Kids enjoyed running on the front lawn and seeing the deer in the early morning."
Secluded Home on 3 Acres + Stunning Views | 10 Miles to Downtown DGO

"Great property with unbeatable views. It is secluded but there are several neighbors nearby so you are not up on a mountain all alone. You can see and hear the trains as they come and go throughout the day! We went in July and it was very warm. The evenings/mornings were comfortable but the mid day was very warm, even with the fans provided and windows open. There are no blackout/darkening curtains on the lower level (which for us was the kid level) which meant the kids were up with the sun.. about 6am every day. The giant closet off the master was a great landing point for all our luggage and clothes and kept everything from getting too scattered. We will always remember the blue roof house on the mountainside!"
