"The hotel is lovely. Traditional and well equipped. The only reason it’s not a 5* review is a couple of areas that fell short. In the gym, not all of the equipment is working which means access is difficult at busy times. We only ate in the hotel for breakfast on the day we checked out and were greeted with a confused look when explaining we don’t want the buffet but instead wanted to order from the à la carte menu. The food took a while to come (which we were advised) but when it did, sausages were lukewarm and I wouldn’t be surprised if they came from the buffet. This wasn’t in keeping with the high quality experienced in the rest of the stay. Location is fantastic and the free travel around the city meant we got to see so much. "

Be sure to request a room with a view at booking time, otherwise you’ll have a room view with air-con system vents. Ensure you bring your own toothbrush, razor and basics no longer provided. Two sets of lifts; inconvenient for seniors"
