Rustic Railway Retreat - Historic caboose - 10 min from Colorado Springs

"This cozy little caboose was exactly what we needed for a short little getaway. There is no stovetop but there is a microwave and a grill. We spent most of our time enjoying the outdoors and the local shops/restaurants in Manitou Springs so we did not utilize the kitchen area much. No AC, but the caboose sits in a wooded area with lots of air movement. We opened the windows and turned on the fans which kept it quite cool (in August!). I contacted the owner once through the VRBO app and the response was immediate. Overall, I was satisfied with the experience. The caboose is beautifully decorated and quite comfortable. I would recommend it for any couple looking for a short stay in the area who plan to enjoy what the surrounding community has to offer. "

"The kitchen was perfectly equipped for making a few meals at home. Loved having the hot tub option one evening. The room was super clean and I appreciated how things were stocked. The only thing that was a bit surprising to me was no central air. We opened the windows the second night and turned on the fan and it was perfect. Our first time in Colorado, it was great. We loved being so close to the garden of the gods. "

"Delightful! It was a lovely property, with a good kitchen, nice bedrooms, and a great bathroom on the second floor. It was very quiet and very private. It was among a lot of trees but yet had a good view, see pictures. The property was very clean and very well equipped, in the bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen. The owner and Caitlin and her partner were extremely responsive and very promptly fixed the one thing that needed fixing. Couldn't have been any better! The property was very nicely located. It was close to Pike's peak (we took the cog train and loved it) and the many other things to do outside, in and around Colorado Springs. There was a great restaurant just a minute or two away by car, Wines of Colorado. We ate there about 4 times. Just minutes away in Woodland Park were many other great restaurants, a grocery, drugstores, etc. Very convenient. There is no air conditioning, but we really didn't need it (mid July). We even put the heat on one night. We definitely recommend it and would go back! "
