"The accommodation stayed in was not as advertised, we hoped it would have been a place that was suitable for a night, but it just created worry and discomfort the entire time staying there. The first room we were presented with was not at all as expected, the walls were stained with marks and water stains. The bathroom was dirty and unacceptable. The bed covers and curtains were stained and window sill covered in mould. Having asthma I was not comfortable staying in this room. I rang to reception and requested another room and told them it wasn’t at all how it was advertised, which the receptionist didn’t understand why. They provided us with a second room which was larger and slightly better than the first but still not good enough. Stained walls, mouldy curtains and window cills. However due to being exhausted from travels, we decided to just try and sleep for the long day ahead the next day. Both myself and partner were unable to get any sleep as the bed was terribly uncomfortable, we could feel the spring badly through the mattress. I have attached some images for you to see for yourself. This is completely unacceptable even with it being a cheap stay. The images need reviewing and updated on your site as the public should know what their money is buying them. We complained to hotels.com and they were very unhelpful. The hotel told them it was all fine so wouldn’t help us. Not impressed. Do not say here or book through hotels.com. Not even worth it for a night."

"This would probably have been a totally fine stay except there was about 50 members of the same family staying there, maybe 75, and their kids were marauding round the hotel leaving trash, upturned chairs, broken glasses etc all over the place. The bar was a no go area because they'd taken over, so loud. Not enough staff to police the bad behavior or clean up and the parents were doing nothing. Pool was absolutely rammed and not a place my kids wanted to hang out - tiny and busy, despite booking a slot. No fridge in the room! Wouldn't stay again."

"The property exceeded expectations! John was super helpful and always answered our questions quickly. And Mandy was so nice and thorough on the house tour and made sure we felt right at home.Cannot recommend this property enough, we’ll definitely be back next year!"

"Worst experience ever! Host was so bad, wouldn’t communicate. We had to chance for the access details. We traveled over 3 hours to turn up after a day at Alton towers around 7.30pm to find the access details were wrong. After chasing for the correct ones we found that the property wasn’t what we paid for. We had 3 adults and 7 children (10people) and there were only 2 double beds and a single to sleep 5. The property was a lovely house but not listed as only having space for 5 people to sleep. We called the host, no reply! Called customer services to have them put the phone down on me and then after having to call again I was told that they had spoken to the host and she had been very angry and swearing a lot on the phone. After that we did not feel comfortable staying at the house also we didn’t have enough space or any blankets / bedding etc to just make do for the night anyway. We had to find a travel lodge and travel another 30 minutes at night and pay again to stay there with young kids. The company and the host didn’t care at all that they had cause so much upset and stress when it was meant to be a nice night stay before going back to Alton towers the next day. I think it’s disgusting that they had no problem making mine and my friends children be upset and scared. Very disappointing! Horrible service! No good costumer service to find a solution when it all goes wrong, which this really did!We are now out of pocket and still waiting for a refund! "

"The property was perfect for us. We were a family of 6 and the house accommodated us perfectly. The hosts where fantastic and left us a lovely welcoming note with a few bits in the property we didnt even think of at the time which came in so handy. It is beautifully decorated with driveway parking and overall a lovely family friendly place to stay. It was my sons 16th birthday and we had booked this property to stay in as it really was perfect for our days at alton towers which was only a 25minute drive from the property. There are a number of supermarkes within a very close drive of the house too which makes it even more ideal. I would highly recommended this family friendly house and the hosts, as both were fantastic. Thank you so much!!"

" Got to the hotel and the grounds were strewn with rubbish. We couldn't access the hotel and could not find any staff. All the lights were off and all the doors were locked and it looked abandoned. We tried for half an hour to gain access and kept ringing the provided phone number but no one answered. Another two guests were in the same situation and eventually we all had to leave and find alternative accommodation! Now Im being told that the manager wont provide authorisation for a refund! Total SCAM! Will be giving Hotels.com 14 days to sort this out, as per the rules of my bank RBS, and then it will be reported as fraud "
