"The view from the private balcony was truly magnificent, both at sunset and during the day, and it made us feel really special. Our host, Timis, the porter, and the room service staff were all very kind and provided excellent service. It would have been even better if the amenities had included a knife and cutting board, but overall, the experience was fantastic."

"When you see souvenirs with the 3 blue domes motif, there’s usually a little gate in the picture … this is the gate to THIS property. What a dream! There will be tourists outside vying for the perfect picture at every hour of the day (I’m not exaggerating) but they are mostly kept away by a chain that indicates private property a short distance away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great location, great property, wonderful hosts."
"Great property and location in Oia, staff was helpful in giving ideas for things to do and arranging transportation for us and our luggage on our way in and out. "

Our stay at Oia Spirit Boutique Residences was an absolute dream!
First of all, the location is fantastic. It’s right next to the three famous blue domes so every time you step out from your room, they’re there! While hoards of tourists line up to take a photo with these domes, you’re able to admire them up close away from the crowds. Staff were wonderful humans - they took such good care of us. The villa was clean. complimentary snacks and wine.
Good views. The Manager was helpful.
The check in process was a problem. Eventhough the Manager had sent an email enquiring about our arrival and meeting at the post office, his email came via hotels.com. I replied to hotels.com missing the fine print that I needed to send the reply to the Property Manager instead.
This led to a major miscommunication wherein there was no one to pick us up. I tried calling the phone number from my booking...

I don’t think you can get a better room in Oia. Very clean, the room is spacious, great for a family with smaller kids. Stavi the host is wonderful and so helpful. The only slight negative was there is no door for the bathroom so privacy wise it can get awkward (but there is a seperate bathroom outside too).

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best area to stay in Oia?
The best area to stay in Oia is along the caldera cliffside, particularly around the main pedestrian pathway that stretches from the bus square towards the iconic Oia Castle.
This area is the heart of Oia's appeal, offering unparalleled views of the Aegean Sea and the volcano. The main pathway, often bustling, is lined with boutique shops, art galleries, and restaurants. Most of the famous cave hotels and luxury hotels are carved into the cliff face here, providing private balconies and often plunge pools with spectacular vistas.
For couples seeking a romantic and unforgettable experience, staying directly on the caldera is the ultimate choice. The privacy and breathtaking sunsets from your own terrace create a truly special atmosphere. You're also right in the middle of Oia's beauty, great for leisurely strolls and enjoying the local cuisine.
Families might find staying slightly away from the immediate caldera edge, perhaps a street or two back, offers a bit more space and potentially easier access.
When is the best time to go to Oia?
The best time to visit Oia is during the shoulder seasons, specifically April to early June or September to October.
During these months, you'll experience pleasant weather, with warm temperatures great for exploring, but without the intense heat and large crowds of the peak summer months. You can comfortably walk the narrow pathways, enjoy the caldera views, and dine at restaurants without needing reservations far in advance.
Couples looking for a romantic getaway will find these times ideal. The sunsets are still spectacular, and you can enjoy them from a quieter vantage point. It's also a great time for boat trips around the caldera or visiting the beaches, as the sea is warm enough for swimming.
For those who appreciate a more relaxed pace and better value, these shoulder seasons offer a more enjoyable and less frenetic experience than the busy summer.
