There was an issue with the new air conditioning unit that had just been installed prior to our arrival, but the owner Leah lives on the island and had arranged for window units and repair while we were there. "Perfect location on Oak Island. Steps to the beach, even good ocean views from the kitchen table for breakfast every morning. Whole house is dog friendly, and was clean. The front porch is fabulous for evenings and is has railings around it so our dog could go off leash while out with us. Expansive rear yard with plenty of "potty room". Great place!"

So roomy, and so conveniently located The beach is a few blocks in one direction, and the intracoastal a few blocks in the other direction. And all the amenities in town are at your fingertips. "Hazlette was a wonderful host, going above and beyond to make our anniversary trip spectacular! I even left something and she worked diligently to get it back to me. The cabin was as pictured. The bed was excellent and was the reason we booked - it’s challenging to find a king size bed in rental properties. Check in/out was simple, and we really enjoyed exploring Oak Island during our stay. Would really recommend this cute spot!"

"This home is perfect for me, my husband and two older children (not yet teenagers). The outdoor shower was my absolute favorite! Very quick walk to public beach access. And the backyard setup was perfect! We would hang out in the back around the fire pit (without a fire because it was hot outside) and the scenery and sounds were very relaxing!
