"My first time ever going and stay in Santa Cruz and this location was perfect, staff was friendly and so helpful with accommodating my check in time. the share bathroom/ shower was not bad at all everyone was respectful sharing rooms in the house, will for sure being going back soon during winter :)"

"Hotel was great, very well run. If you have a kitchen you need to pay $50 for cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils - they aren't automatically in the unit. The Rio del Mar beach is very neglected and dirty, not sure why, as it's in a nice area. Also be aware that the area is foggier than Santa Cruz Boardwalk Beach, so worth driving there for better weather and frankly a much nicer beach. Nisene State Park is 5 min from the hotel and has beautiful Redwoods and plenty of hiking opportunities. Overall still a great place to stay. "
"A home away from home nestled in the cozy beach town of Aptos. A few minutes away from the beach. Rio Del Mar is my personal favorite. Beautiful property. There is another unit attached to the house with people living in it but they’re not a bother and if you walk your dog around just beware the coast has poison oak everywhere. Property has all the amenities you could need. Will hopefully be returning in the future!!!"

"This is a very special place. Tucked away in the hills of Aptos, it's quiet, scenic and relaxing. The room was very cozy and while there's only a refrigerator and microwave, the property is so nice, after eating out one night, we just brought takeout dinners home and sat out on the deck (check out Gayle's bakery and the salad/hot bar at New Leaf). The highlight was the pool and jacuzzi, can't say I've ever seen a nicer indoor pool at a private residence."
