Starting with arrival: get transportation from the airport (about 45 minutes away). Upon arrival, staff helps with your bags, offers a hand towel and champagne, then escorts you to check-in where you're helped immediately. I mentioned our recent engagement hoping for an upgrade, no luck, but our junior suite was awesome as-is. A bellhop gives you a personal tour of amenities on the way to your room, pointing out restaurants, bars, and the Excellence app (highly recommend using it).
The room was fabulous — spotless, robes and slippers, fully stocked bar and fridge, and a modern, comfy balcony. The property features 9 restaurants, a coffee shop (Aroma), and a sports area with pickleball, tennis, and archery.
We dined at Spain (tapas), the Steakhouse, French, Italian, the Beach restaurant, and Magna, the exclusive Excellence restaurant requiring membership. We gained access to Magna after I found metal in my French onion soup at Chef Izabelle. The team responded quickly and attentively, offering more soup and later a complimentary massage. Multiple managers followed up persistently, which I genuinely appreciated.
This is a quieter, adults-only resort; no parties, no kids. But there’s a hidden gem: their pickleball/tennis instructor, a Dominican pro, gave us the best coaching we’ve ever had.
